Role overview

The IT Auditor will be responsible for evaluating the effectiveness of audit client’s IT controls, systems, and processes to support the external audit process. This role will also involve working directly with our external audit teams to help design and execute audit testing via extraction of data from client systems. In addition, they would be expected to make recommendations to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

Key responsibilities

  • Supporting audit engagements by assessing IT-related risks and controls across various business processes
  • Perform system walkthroughs and data interrogation to validate control effectiveness and identify control gaps
  • Evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of general IT controls (GITCs), application controls, and automated processes
  • Working with our external audit teams on specific client assignments to help design and execute substantive testing via extraction of data from client systems/databases.
  • Assist in the development of audit programs and testing strategies for IT controls and significant risk areas
  • Document audit findings clearly and concisely, and contributing to audit closing reports and recommendations
  • Stay current with emerging technologies, risks, and audit methodologies
Person specifications – Desirable experience and skills
  • Proven experience in IT auditing, preferably within an accountancy practice.
  • Strong understanding of ITGCs, cybersecurity frameworks, and risk management principles.
  • Experience with data analytics tools (e.g., MindBridge, Power BI, SQL).
Key responsibilities
  • Professional certifications such as CISA highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience with cloud environments (e.g., Azure, AWS) and ERP systems.
  • Knowledge of data analytics and automation in audit processes.
  • Understanding of financial systems and controls.
Working arrangements

The working week: 35 hours per week (Monday-Friday) to be worked from 09:30-17:30 with flexibility of hours to meet specific work demands.

Location: Your principle work base is our London Office.
