Instrumental Music Tutor (SEND)

Working Pattern: 16 hours per week, permanent, term time only (36 weeks per year)
Salary: £25,195 – £36,967 per annum (pro rata)
Location: Lincolnshire (primarily Boston and South Holland districts)
Closing Date: Sunday 8 February 2026
Interviews: Week commencing 2 March 2026

We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Instrumental Music Tutor with experience in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to deliver engaging music lessons in specialist settings and schools. This is a unique opportunity to make a real difference by using music as a tool for inclusion and creativity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality music lessons and instrumental tuition tailored to the needs of SEND learners.
  • Plan and adapt lessons to ensure accessibility and engagement for all pupils.
  • Work collaboratively with school staff and support teams to create positive learning environments.
  • Inspire and motivate students to develop their musical skills and confidence.
  • Proven experience teaching music to children and young people with SEND.
  • Strong instrumental and classroom management skills (any instrument considered).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet diverse needs.
  • A large proportion of the teaching will take place in the districts of Boston and South Holland.
  • The ability to travel is essential for the role of a peripatetic music tutor.
  • Experience in group and one-to-one teaching.
  • Knowledge of inclusive music-making approaches.
  • Ability to offer other instruments could increase the hours available.
