Job description

Our client is seeking an experienced Indirect Tax Manager to join its global tax team. This newly created role will focus on EMEA VAT advisory, lead VAT-related projects, and contribute to the execution of the global tax strategy.

Responsibilities
  • Provide proactive VAT guidance on new initiatives and ongoing operations.
  • Review supply chain structures and business activities from an indirect tax perspective.
  • Monitor registration requirements and legislative changes across EMEA, communicating impacts to stakeholders.
  • Manage interactions with tax authorities on indirect tax matters.
  • Promote VAT awareness through training and knowledge sharing.
  • Design and implement indirect tax controls and processes aligned with global tax objectives.
  • Develop guidance for business activities to ensure compliance.
  • Manage relationships with external advisers and key business partners.
  • Define and review indirect tax requirements for systems and transformation projects.
  • Collaborate with IT to improve tax reporting capabilities and data quality.
  • Oversee processes to ensure timely and accurate EMEA VAT compliance.
  • Work with accounting teams to strengthen in-house capabilities and manage outsourced compliance providers.
Requirements
  • Minimum 4 years' experience, ideally from Big 4 or multinational environments.
  • Chartered Tax Advisor qualification (or equivalent).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced setting.
  • Excellent time management and project coordination skills.
  • Additional languages are advantageous.
  • Experience with tax engines and ERP systems.
