Role – Indirect Tax Assistant Manager (UK)

Purpose And Key Responsibilities

• Manage the indirect tax compliance function across the offices, allocating work to junior team members as needed.
• Identify issues and opportunities to continuously improve indirect tax compliance processes.
• Support the team in all aspects of client work, liaising with the client engagement team to meet deadlines and demands.
• Take ownership of client portfolios, developing relationships and identifying opportunities to support clients.
• Ensure delivery of client work from start to finish, handling any indirect support required.
• Manage indirect tax correspondence with clients and resolve queries in a timely manner with minimal guidance.
• Review indirect tax compliance work, highlighting areas where additional support is required.
• Produce advisory and project work to a high technical standard, writing clearly and concisely with minimal guidance.
• Maintain and develop technical knowledge, researching new legislation and advising clients accordingly.
• Coach junior members, delegating and reviewing their work as required.
• Support the leadership team with day‑to‑day operations, ensuring financial, utilisation targets and deadlines are met.
• Understand the wider services of the firm, identify opportunities for further work and prepare proposal documents for final review.
• Participate in indirect tax business development projects, client events, and deliver technical training when required.
