Job summary

A leading domestic abuse organization in Sheffield is seeking a Children and Young Person’s Domestic Abuse Practitioner. This part-time position involves providing trauma-informed support to children and young people in dispersed accommodation. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children who have faced trauma, excellent communication skills, and a full driving license. Flexible shifts ensure the needs of children and young people are met, with the opportunity to make a real impact in their lives.

Qualifications

• Experience of supporting children who have experienced trauma.
• Full driving license and access to a car with business insurance.
• Understanding of domestic abuse and its impact on women and children.

Responsibilities

• Provide trauma-informed support to children and young people in dispersed accommodation.
• Participate in support meetings and client visits across various locations.
• Perform record keeping and maintain excellent communication.

Skills

Experience of working with children who have lived with trauma

Excellent communication skills

Ability to work independently

Ability to work on a rota

Awareness of safety planning and risk assessing
