Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) Engineer – Dorset (Mid - Senior)
  • Location: Dorset
  • On Site: 1x a week
  • Clearance: SC
  • Experience Level: Mid - Senior
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain ILS packages for maritime sensing and lighting systems.
  • Support spares identification, provisioning, and preventive maintenance strategies.
  • Calculate and guarantee Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) and Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) metrics.
  • Build and manage TimeX sparing models for preventive maintenance and repair strategies.
  • Collaborate with repair cells and test facilities; occasional on-site presence (e.g., 1 day per week).
  • Ensure compliance with customer ILS requirements and maintain a robust knowledge base of core ILS standards.
  • Support AI‑driven fixed task lists and sensor‑based systems (e.g., wind and speed measurement).
  • Provide technical input for maritime projects, including fuel measurement and reliability analysis.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • ILS development and maintenance—confident working with support packages, documentation, and lifecycle planning.
  • Reliability engineering capability—strong understanding of MTBF, MTTR, failure analysis, and maintainability principles.
  • Spares and provisioning knowledge—experience identifying, validating, and managing spares for preventive and corrective maintenance.
  • Sparing model experience—familiarity with TimeX or similar modelling tools for maintenance and repair strategies.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience.
Desirable Skills
  • Understanding of ILS standards (DEF STANs, S‑Series standards, or customer‑specific frameworks).
  • Hands‑on exposure to repair or test facilities—supporting investigations, repairs, or system validation.
  • Data analysis or modelling skills—Python, MATLAB, or similar tools for reliability or maintenance modelling.
  • Background in maritime, defence, or safety‑critical engineering—beneficial but not essential.
