Job summary

A leading non-profit organization in the United Kingdom is seeking Ignite Leaders to focus on youth and children's ministry. This full-time, permanent position offers a salary of £26,000 - £31,000 per annum and provides comprehensive training and mentoring to engage local young people. About:

With an awareness that employing a youth or children’s worker is the biggest common factor to growth of youth and children’s ministry, 30 youth and children’s leaders will be strategically placed in parishes over the next 3 years toenablemore engagement with local young people, facilitate vibrant, faith-filled communities and programmes thatnurtureyoung people’s spiritual growth, anddisciplethose young people into deeper faith and integration into the wider church family. That parish that employs each Ignite Leader will share the vision and work together with the Ignite Project Leaders to reach growing numbers of children and young people with supportive and Spirit-filled ministry.

Ignite Leaders will receive training, mentoring, and access to formal ministry qualifications, building a network of passionate and dedicated youth and children’s leaders across the Diocese. The Ignite Project seeks to catalise growth and create lasting change, equipping churches to nurture faith and disciple future generations.

Role Duties:
  • Ignite Leaders will be focused on work with children and families or young people
  • £26,000 - £31,000p/a
  • Full time, permanent posts
  • Option to complete certificate, diploma or degree qualification through Emmanuel Theological College
  • Comprehensive package of training and mentoring provided by the Diocese of Blackburn
  • Working in parishes to enable children and young people to encounter Jesus, nurture their growing faith and disciple them into deep relationship with Christ
  • Plan, Develop and grow youth and/or children’s or families ministry in parish
  • Support the delivery with some responsibility of Diocesan events
  • Be a worshipping member of the parish in which they are based
  • Be accountable for reporting key data to the Project Manager
