Job summary

A local council serving the community is seeking a Strategic Commissioning Manager for the Disabilities and Autism Team in Aylesbury. Qualifications

  • Clinical experience in inpatient care, preferably in learning disability or mental health services.
  • Experience in commissioning health or social care services.
  • Knowledge of the commissioning cycle and relevant legislation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic commissioning and contract management activities.
  • Carry out inpatient oversight visits.
  • Ensure timely Care & Treatment Reviews.
  • Maintain and develop the Dynamic Support Register.
  • Translate population needs into integrated service provision.
  • Manage a team of Commissioning Officers / Support Officers.
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement across services.
  • Engage with providers, communities, and stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and safeguarding standards.
  • Support business planning and financial oversight.
  • Deputise for the Strategic Commissioning Lead when required.
