Qualifications

Salary: £40,000 - £43,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications

Location: Houghton le Spring - Office-based role (commuting required)

: Monday - Friday, 9am-5pm (37.5 hours/week) You may be required to work additional hours from time to time to meet the objectives of this role.

We are seeking an experienced HR professional to manage our HR function, advise senior management, and drive employee engagement. Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the day‑to‑day HR operations and team management
  • Support recruitment, workforce planning, and onboarding
  • Maintain HR policies in line with employment law
  • Provide coaching, guidance, and support to managers
  • Manage employee relations, absence, disciplinary, and grievance cases
  • Administer maternity, paternity, and parental leave processes
  • Conduct exit interviews and track trends
  • Maintain learning and HR databases
Requirements
  • CIPD Level 5 minimum (and to have held this qualification for at least 3 years)
  • At least 3 years' experience currently managing an HR team or department
  • Strong, up‑to‑date knowledge of UK employment law, TUPE, and HR best practice
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Professional, reliable, and able to handle confidential information
  • Able to thrive in a fast‑paced, evolving environment
  • Full UK Driving Licence required as the role will involve travel to other Pacifica sites as and when required, with possible overnight stays
