Hospital Porter

Salary: £13.85 per hour

Full time shifts – 45 hours per week (Monday to Friday, days available)

Key Responsibilities
  • Liaising with control staff on the arrival and departure of patients
  • Covering calls to the Patient Transport desk
  • Working on the reception when required
  • Providing patients with information about their ongoing journey
  • Moving patients on stretchers or wheelchairs
  • Moving stores or equipment
  • Moving patient belongings if required
  • Making patients feel comfortable and at ease by being friendly and helpful
  • Transfer patients to where they need to go, which may involve lifting or pushing patients
  • Work alongside staff and patients
  • Other duties appropriate as may be required from time to time
  • Attend or participate in any training in person or online deemed appropriate and necessary to ensure effective performance and personal development
  • Seek guidance if something isn’t right

Working Conditions
