Hospital Porter

Salary: £13.85 per hour
Full time shifts – 45 hours per week (Monday to Friday, days available)

Key Responsibilities
- Liaising with control staff on the arrival and departure of patients
- Covering calls to the Patient Transport desk
- Working on the reception when required
- Providing patients with information about their ongoing journey
- Moving patients on stretchers or wheelchairs
- Moving stores or equipment
- Moving patient belongings if required
- Making patients feel comfortable and at ease by being friendly and helpful
- Transfer patients to where they need to go, which may involve lifting or pushing patients
- Work alongside staff and patients
- Other duties appropriate as may be required from time to time
- Attend or participate in any training in person or online deemed appropriate and necessary to ensure effective performance and personal development
- Seek guidance if something isn’t right

Working Conditions
- The work can be physically demanding as porters are on their feet throughout the day, and often have to push wheelchairs and trolleys
