Hook Up Superintendent – Piping / Mechanical
Location: Aberdeen, Scotland (with business trips to Dubai)
Wood is recruiting for a Hook‑up Superintendent to join its Operations Business. Construction Delivery takes responsibility for the quality and integrity of each project, bringing projects in on schedule and within budget. Using construction management procedures and experience, you will provide continuity and consistency of the construction Hook‑up phase with quality assurance and reliable control.

Responsibilities
- Responsible for construction and contractor related deliverables
- Supervises discipline areas on projects
- Manages and executes discipline construction project(s) in accordance with the contract between the company and the client, as well as company operating policies and principles
- Ensures execution of the work in accordance with the quality standards and requirements specified for the project
- Manages installation, commissioning support and completion activities of materials and equipment
- Coordinates field personnel work schedules to maximise utilisation and ensure work is delivered on schedule
- Monitors work progress and reports against the plan
- Ensures safety, quality and environmental responsibilities and accountabilities are defined and communicated to workers within their area of control
- Ensures all workers within their area of control receive appropriate training to perform their work safely, legally and competently, including any Health & Safety and site‑specific inductions
- Initiates safety, quality and environmental processes within their area of control, including toolbox meetings, inspections, and risk assessment and control in accordance with Wood and client requirements
- Co‑ordinates supply and delivery of equipment, subcontractors, consumables, accommodation and other project‑specific requirements, in accordance with client/contract documents and Wood Policies & Procedures
- Works with engineering in the design phases to influence design for optimum constructability
Qualifications
- Minimum qualified to ISCED Level 5 (technical diploma/apprenticeship) or equivalent combination of qualifications and experience
- Appropriate level of field construction experience, typically gained through extensive post‑qualification experience in a relevant industry
