Job description
Highways Safety Inspector - M25

Balfour Beatty plc

Site-based role, undertaking Highway Safety Inspections across the M25 DBFO Network.

Highway Safety Inspectors are responsible for carrying out daily driven inspections of the M25 DBFO network to identify defects which pose a risk to road users. The role decides on required actions to make safe or rectify those defects and carries out walked safety inspections on a monthly basis. Responsibilities include using a vehicle in a professional and courteous manner in accordance with all relevant policies and procedures.

What you’ll be doing
  • Working within a depot based environment carrying out weekly highway safety inspections on both the Motorway and APTR network.
  • Identification and recording of CAT1 safety defects.
Who we’re looking for
  • City & Guilds 6033 – Highway Inspection (preferable) or equivalent.
  • Previous experience of working in a highway maintenance contract.
  • Knowledge and experience of highway and motorway defects.
  • Knowledge of highway construction and repair requirements.
  • Experience in the use of Microsoft Office applications.
  • CSCS site visitor card.
  • Full driving licence.
