A leading regional transport company based in Norwich seeks an experienced HGV Technician to maintain and repair their fleet of vehicles. The role offers a competitive salary of £40,801.34 per annum for 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Responsibilities include servicing vehicles, ensuring compliance with DVSA standards, and participating in an out of hours rota. Qualifications

  • Full UK Driving licence required, preferably with CAT C Licence.
  • Proven experience within a commercial workshop environment.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair a range of vehicles.

Responsibilities

  • Service, maintain, and repair LGV/LCV vehicles according to DVSA standards.
  • Prepare vehicles for annual tests and conduct road tests.
  • Participate in out of hours rota for breakdowns.

Skills

Experience in servicing and maintaining vehicles
Knowledge of Health and Safety practices
Working knowledge of vehicle parts

Education

City & Guilds certificate in Motor Vehicle Craft Studies or NVQ equivalent
IRTEC certificate of competence (desirable)

HGV Technician required for Fleet Work

Norwich, Norfolk

£40,801.34 per annum

40 Hours per week

Monday to Friday

At Norse Group we have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced HGV Technician to join our Highways depot in Hethersett / Ketteringham Norfolk, working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday and participate in an out of hours rotapaid at time and a half and double time for Sundays / Bank Holidays with an additional weekly standby payment. In support of Norfolk Fire & Rescue, Winter Service and company owned vehicles.

About the Role:

You will be responsible for the upkeep of the company fleet of LGV / LCV vehicles ensuring all vehicles are serviced, maintained, and repaired in accordance with Operators Licence requirements and DVSA standards. You will also prepare vehicles for annual tests, road test vehicles to certify roadworthiness and attend breakdowns.

This is an exciting role for an experienced Technician looking to develop and share their expertise within a knowledgeable team.

Job Requirements:

  • City & Guilds certificate in Motor Vehicle Craft Studies, (light or heavy vehicles), or NVQ equivalent in Motor Vehicle Studies, (light or heavy vehicles)
  • Full UK Driving licence + licence as you may be required to pick up vehicles (CAT C Licence)
  • Proven experience of working within a commercial workshop, on site, servicing, inspecting, diagnosing, repairing and maintaining a range of vehicles
  • IRTEC certificate of competence heavy vehicles mechanical/electrical is desirable
  • Working Knowledge of Vehicle Parts
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety and ability to promote best practice as an individual and for others
