HGV Mechanic / Plant Mechanic – Heathrow Airport

Location: Heathrow Airport, Hounslow, England, United Kingdom

Salary: £46,730 – £51,047 + Overtime + Excellent Benefits

Schedule: 4 days on / 4 days off

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

What You’ll Be Doing

• Service, maintain, and repair a wide range of Ground Service Equipment (GSE) including aircraft tugs, towing tractors, and baggage elevators.
• Diagnose faults and carry out both mechanical and electrical repairs.
• Conduct planned and preventative maintenance (PPM).
• Complete accurate paperwork and liaise effectively with internal teams.
• Work safely and in compliance with all health and safety regulations.

Available Shifts

• 11:30 AM – 11:30 PM, paying £51,047.50
• 06:30 AM – 06:30 PM, paying £50,547
• 06:00 AM – 06:00 PM, paying £46,730

Overtime paid at time and a half.

About You

• Qualified HGV Mechanic / Technician, or strong background in light vehicle or GSE maintenance.
• Prior GSE experience desirable but not essential.
• Eligible for an airside pass (must provide 5 years of checkable work history).
• Able to pass a basic criminal record check.
• A safety‑conscious, proactive team player with strong diagnostic and problem‑solving skills.
