Job description
Healthcare Assistant – Complex Care Worker

Westhoughton, Bolton

JOB REF: GP1125

Our training is delivered in‑house by our own clinical lead nurse and is paid, so you start earning from day one. We can have you working as soon as your DBS check is completed—no lengthy wait for a start date.

You will be caring for a loving gentleman who lives at home in Bolton with his wife and two grown‑up daughters. The patient is non‑verbal, completely paralysed and requires complex care. Experience with Tracheostomy, PEG care, communication issues and moving & handling equipment is highly beneficial.

2‑3 times per year we take a break at a holiday cottage in Hambleton, Lancashire. During that week you would cover your regular shifts while fuel expenses are paid for you to return home each day.

We need punctual, reliable individuals who can show initiative, sometimes working alone or as part of a team. You must be a good communicator with a “can‑do” attitude, a great sense of humour, and a love of sport.

Benefits
  • £14.44 per hour day rate and £15.59 per hour night rate, with an enhanced bank holiday rate of £18.75 per hour
  • A pension if eligible
  • 5.6 weeks annual leave per year pro rata
  • Full certified training on all aspects of the role completed in the workplace
Working hours

We can offer day shifts (usually 8:00 am–6:00 pm) and night shifts (usually 9:00 pm–8:00 am). There are currently two roles: 20 hours per week (2 × 10 hour day shifts) or 30 hours per week (3 × 10 hour night shifts). Actual days and shift hours can be discussed and negotiated at interview. You will be expected to work weekends on a rota basis and may work additional hours during holidays and sickness.

Requirements
  • At least 12 months UK work history in the care industry
  • At least 3 months of care experience in the UK; preference for experience with complex care interventions (e.g., Tracheostomy, PEG care, communication issues, moving & handling)
  • Full, clean driving licence and own vehicle desired (due to location and shift patterns)
