Position: Technical Trainer (Engineer Trainer)

Location: Glasgow, Head Office

Job Type: Full time, Permanent

Hours: Monday to Friday, 39.5 hours per week

Salary: £38.000.00 per annum

The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Matthew Algie to apply for the position of Engineering Trainer on a full-time, permanent basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for the planning, implementation, and delivery of engaging and effective training programmes, with the aim of developing a highly skilled, confident, and capable workforce.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver concise and detailed training plans and assessments on our portfolio of machines.
• Support and liaise with departmental service managers on training needs.
• Create, maintain, and manage training records and feedback documentation.
• Ensure all training documentation is accurately collated, stored, and kept up to date within internal systems.
• Deliver hands on technical training covering machine mechanics, hydraulics, and safety standards.
• Navigate trainees around internal systems, e.g., SharePoint and call logging systems.
• Provide field-based support for new employees during onboarding and development phases.
• Keep field-based manuals and parts manuals up to date.
• Deliver soft skills training to field engineers to support effective customer interactions and complaint resolution.

Experience

• Ideally candidates will have 5–10 years’ experience working with coffee machines across multiple systems and manufacturers.
• Candidates from a training background with strong transferable electrical and mechanical skills will also be considered.

Education/Qualifications

• Degree-level qualification in any engineering discipline, or equivalent relevant workplace experience.

Personal Attributes

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to travel throughout the UK/Ireland to deliver the business training plan.
• Strong work ethic with a proactive and professional approach.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
• Knowledge of various training and teaching methods.
• Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies and systems.
