In partnership with parents and the community, the Governing Body of Llanmartin Primary School is seeking a visionary and inspirational Head Teacher to lead our happy and vibrant school. The school benefits from a wonderful site and fantastic outside areas. It is in a pleasant rural setting on the Underwood Estate. We cater for children aged 3–11 years from Underwood and surrounding communities and have a mixed age range Learning Resource Base fully integrated into our daily school life.

Through our vision of ‘Together we can Achieve’, we aim to develop ambitious and capable learners who, through a wealth of exciting experiences and challenges in a vibrant learning environment, become respectful and inquisitive learners who care about the local community, Wales and the wider world. As Head Teacher, you will lead a dedicated and passionate team, providing professional leadership to ensure the school continues its improvement journey and delivers high‑quality education for all pupils.

The Governing Body is committed to appointing a Head Teacher who:

  • Has proven ability to lead, challenge and empower children and professional colleagues through effective school self‑evaluation and improvement processes
  • Has resilience, energy, flexibility and enthusiasm
  • Understands the importance of highly effective parental engagement
  • Works alongside the Governing Body and local authority to ensure two‑way flow of open and honest communication and governance
  • Promotes the highest standards of teaching and learning based on pedagogical research and evidence‑based practice
