Job description

Head of Client Accounts

£60-£80 (dependent on experience)

To lead a high-performing accounts team responsible for producing accurate, timely, and compliant service charge accounts and client reporting. This is a pivotal role which will be combining technical service charge accounting expertise with transformational leadership— driving process improvement, software innovation, and the integration of emerging technologies, including AI and automation, to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and client value.

Duties
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the accounts team
  • Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee team structure and recruitment to ensure a high-performing, scalable finance function.
  • Ensure all service charge accounts are accurate, timely, and fully compliant with RICS, ARMA, and statutory standards.
  • Oversee the preparation, review, and audit of service charge accounts.
  • Implement clear timelines, controls, and quality assurance procedures.
  • Lead the evaluation, testing, and adoption of new accounting and property management systems.
  • Drive migration projects from legacy software to an AI first platforms.
  • Champion automation, workflow optimisation, and data integration across finance and operations.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance client reporting, reduce manual intervention, and improve speed and accuracy.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for complex or escalated client accounting matters.
  • Build trust with clients through transparent communication, insight, and professional expertise.
  • Present financial reports and insights to internal and external stakeholders confidently and clearly.
Requirements
  • Ideally be ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified (or equivalent).
  • Have a Minimum 5 years’ experience in residential block or property management accounting.
  • Strong technical knowledge of service charge accounting and legislation.
  • Understanding of and interest in AI and automation tools relevant to finance operations.
  • Proven team leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated success in improving processes and systems.
  • Hands‑on experience with major accounting or block management systems
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
