Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Bristol is seeking a Graduate for their Transport Roads & Streets team. This role involves supporting innovative transport solutions for sustainable mobility. Candidates should have a degree in Civil Engineering and a passion for sustainable development. The position requires strong communication skills and willingness to learn, with experience in AutoCAD being advantageous. Join our Transport team and help shape the future of sustainable mobility. This is an exciting time for the transport sector as governments look to evolve their existing transport infrastructure to address changing travel patterns, emerging technologies and the challenges presented by climate change.

Arup is playing a lead role with a range of clients to develop innovative transport solutions for the future; from major highways projects to multi‑modal transport solutions and active travel improvements. Arup core skills in the Highways & Active Travel team range from geometric alignment design, surface water drainage design and building of intelligent 3D models; to stakeholder engagement and project management.

Is this role right for you?

We are looking for candidates with the following criteria:

  • A degree in Civil Engineering, expecting a 2:1 or above, or equivalent.
  • Looking to develop your career in infrastructure design with a view to obtaining Professional Accreditation.
  • Have a willingness to learn new skills and a desire to deliver high quality work for a range of clients.
  • A good communicator who thrives on working either on your own or in a team environment.
  • Have a passion for creating a sustainable future for all and shaping a better world.
  • Wish to explore how digital methods and automation can improve and enhance the work we deliver.
  • Have an analytical thought process and/or a systems thinking approach.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Civil3D and drainage design software is advantageous.
