Graduate Infrastructure and Civil Engineer

Location: Manchester, UK

RSK LDE Ltd, part of the RSK Group, seeks an enthusiastic Graduate Civil and Infrastructure Engineer to join our experienced team in Manchester. RSK LDE, formed in 2003, specialises in the assessment, design and construction of major development projects.

The role involves evaluating land use constraints, supporting site acquisition and planning, and continuing into detail design, obtaining statutory approvals, and supervising infrastructure and remediation projects.

Responsibilities
  • Support the design team on infrastructure projects.
  • Undertake infrastructure design under supervision using AutoCAD and proprietary software.
  • Negotiate with Local and Drainage Authority Engineers on design for adoptable works.
  • Implement designs on private areas to comply with current Codes of Practice.
  • Collaborate with Architects, M&E Engineers, and clients, understanding each team member’s role.
  • Keep up to date with changes in legislation, codes of practice, design codes and proprietary suppliers.
  • Assist in scheme design/value engineering under the guidance of the Project Engineer.
  • Coordinate programme and communication requirements to ensure satisfactory project delivery.
  • Develop technical or management capability through CPD, including graduate membership of ICE.
  • Apply HERRR, Quality and SHEQMS procedures at project level.
  • Attend relevant training seminars and present key points to colleagues.
  • Check drawings and calculations prepared by colleagues to a level determined by the Project Engineer.
Person Specification
  • BEng or MEng in Civil Engineering.
  • Graduate Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers and pursuing professional status.
  • Strong knowledge of the full engineering/development process.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Full UK driving licence.
