Step into Teaching has partnered with a fantastic primary school in Bristol that is dedicated to promoting mental health and wellbeing for both students and staff.This school is committed to helping you develop your skills, providing you with the tools and support necessary to succeed.

This role will be based in the school until July 26, with then a chance to move onto the school teacher training programme.

The school has several different roles working1-2-1 with children with Autism and SEMH, and they need your support to thrive academically and socially.

You’ll work alongside a specialist team to support these students in and out of the classroom, helping them reach their full potential and have a positive school experience.

What You’ll Be Doing:
  • Provide classroom support by assisting the teacher and helping students stay engaged during lessons.
  • Supporting across the primary curriculum.
  • Participate in duty activities (before school, break, and after school) as part of a rota system.
  • Assist with administrative tasks, such as preparing lessons, creating resources, and filing.
  • Support students with enrichment activities and extra-curricular projects.

  • Ideally, some experience working with children who have SEND/SEMH needs (not essential)
