# Genetic Analyst in Rare Diseases Genomics (Fixed Term)We are recruiting a Genetic Analyst who can lead large-scale multi-omics analyses for rare diseases and contribute to analyses of population-scale whole genome sequence and genotype data sets. The postholder ideally will already have experience in rare or complex disorder genetics and show a keen interest in translational research. They will work closely with the rare disease NIHR BioResource lead and contributing PIs.**About NIHR BioResource:**Our mission is to facilitate human health research and its transformation into medical practice.NIHR BioResource is a unique and powerful resource for studying disease mechanisms and for investigating the links between genes, the environment, health and disease, enabling scientific discoveries as well as facilitating translational medicine for the benefit of patients.Further details on the NIHR BioResource, including some of our COVID-19 research studies, can be found on our website .**About the job:**This is an exciting position that will play a vital role in leading rare disease genetics research using samples and data from the NIHR BioResource.The postholder will hold a relevant PhD in bioinformatics or statistical genetics, and experience in the generation or analysis of large-scale high-throughput genetic and genomic data and bioinformatics. Optimally, this will include genome wide association studies, and/or exome or whole genome sequencing analyses. Alternatively, you will have experience in biomarker informatics.The role will require good skills in statistical analysis, machine learning, preferably in R and/or python, and LINUX/bash. You will be able to work independently and maintain excellent relationships with our collaborators.
