Overview

Role: Poppy Appeal Manager
Location: Buckinghamshire (Homebased)
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: 35 Hours, Monday to Friday

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated individual to join the Royal British Legion as a Poppy Appeal Manager for Buckinghamshire. This role coordinates all aspects of the award-winning Poppy Appeal in the area, working with the Regional Poppy Appeal Manager to meet income, expenditure, and contribution targets. You will manage relationships with local supporters, partners, and volunteers, ensuring they have the resources and support they need to maximise fundraising efforts and make a lasting impact.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate all aspects of the Poppy Appeal in Buckinghamshire, in line with income, expenditure, and contribution targets.
  • Develop and nurture corporate partnerships and local community relationships.
  • Recruit, induct, and support new Poppy Appeal Organisers.
  • Coordinate the Poppy Appeal launch and related PR and media activities.
  • Represent the Royal British Legion in the local community and engage with stakeholders.
  • Travel regularly as part of the role; expected to work from home with some evening and weekend commitments to maintain a healthy work-life balance.
  • Keep stakeholders updated and support outreach activities; travel within the county and occasionally outside for training or conferences.
  • Ensure resources and support are provided to volunteers for effective fundraising.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Experience in building relationships, planning events, and working with diverse stakeholders is highly valued; financial management experience is helpful but not essential.
  • Full UK driving licence is required.
  • Flexible working arrangements may be available; 9-day fortnight options and other arrangements may be considered.
  • Ability to travel regularly, including overnight stays (typically 1–2 nights per year).
  • Commitment to the cause and to engaging with the Armed Forces community.
