A leading construction firm in Bath is seeking a Functional Safety Engineer to ensure the safe design and operation of Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) in high-hazard industries. This role involves leading SIL compliance, maintaining the Functional Safety Management System, and facilitating risk assessments. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Engineering and proven experience applying IEC 61511. Qualifications

  • Proven experience in functional safety engineering, ideally within high-hazard industries.
  • Experience in applying IEC 61511 and managing the full safety lifecycle.
  • Familiarity with COMAH, DSEAR, and ATEX regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support safety integrity level (SIL) compliance across project lifecycle.
  • Implement and maintain the Functional Safety Management System (FSMS).
  • Facilitate hazard identification and risk assessments.
