Job summary

A leading food safety organization in the United Kingdom is seeking an FSQ Ingredients and Product Manager to oversee the quality and safety of bread production. You will be responsible for managing raw materials, conducting risk assessments, and leading a team to maintain compliance with food safety standards. The ideal candidate has experience in the food industry, knowledge of HACCP, and strong leadership skills to drive improvements in safety processes. This role promises a dynamic work environment focused on food quality and compliance.

Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of BRC and major retailer standards.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct and update risk assessments for all raw materials and finished products.
  • Onboard new suppliers and review manufacturing controls.
  • Lead the HACCP and Food Defence Teams and drive safety process improvements.
  • Oversee customer complaint investigations and internal audits.

The Opportunity: FSQ Ingredients and Product Manager -Acting as the first point of contact for both suppliers and customers regarding technical queries and compliance.

What you will contribute
  • Manage the flow of all raw materials and finished products, ensuring they meet the rigorous quality and safety standards.
  • Conduct and update risk assessments covering allergens, microbiological, chemical, physical and vulnerability aspects to ensure the integrity of all raw materials and finished products.
  • To onboard new suppliers, reviewing manufacturing controls and ensure all necessary documents are accessible and up to date.
  • Lead the HACCP and Food Defence Teams, ensuring robust systems are maintained and to drive improvements in safety processes.
  • Work with NPD to review and approve new ingredients and specifications for new launches.
  • Responsible for Food Safety, Quality, Legality and Hygiene across all Bread production plants, managing a team of FSQ Specialists across 4 shifts.
  • Oversee the management of customer complaint investigations, reporting and trending.
  • Oversee the management of internal audits; including system, GMP and GWP audits, supporting where necessary.
  • Coordinate sampling schemes and laboratory operations, including equipment maintenance and calibration.
