I am looking for a warm, kind and chatty Personal Assistant/Companion to support a delightful 66-year-old retired teacher living in a cosy bungalow with her much-loved cat, Sam. She was diagnosed with a slow degenerative neurological condition 30 years ago and now uses a wheelchair when out and about, though she’s able to get around her home with a walker.
She enjoys reading, watching TV and playing Trivial Pursuit, and would love someone who’s happy to spend time with her, chat, and join in with board games. She is a smoker but only smokes when on her own.
Her ideal PA is friendly, patient, and happy to offer companionship as well as light support at home—such as occasionally putting a load of washing on. On Friday mornings she is hoping to attend wheelchair yoga at Age Concern, but there will also be times where she may like to go shopping, to the library or just for walk. Access to a car is essential, along with the ability to help her into the car and load her wheelchair into the boot.
When out, she may sometimes need assistance in the bathroom due to the practicality of disabled toilets, but otherwise she is independent, cheerful and loves interacting with others.
If you’re someone who is kind, engaging, and enjoys making a positive difference to someone’s day, she would love to meet you.
Accessing social and leisure activities e.g. Walks, going to the library, shopping etc
Whilst at home, participate with social activities/interaction such as board games, having a chat and a cup of tea
All applicants must have the right to work in the UK and be willing to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check if required.
