A leading maritime transportation company in the UK is looking for a Freight Shipping Planner to handle transport requests, liaise with customers, and ensure smooth operations related to freight reservations. Responsibilities

• Handle transport requests from customers professionally.
• Liaise and provide updates to customers via various channels.
• Process booking requests and ensure vehicle details.
• Manage hazardous material bookings according to guidelines.
• Communicate with terminal and shipboard staff for operations.
• Complete voyage manifests correctly.

Handling and converting all transport requests from customers via the various communication channels in a professional manner

Customer Communication:

• Liaise with all customers through various communication channels and provide up-to-date information to customers.
• Contacting customers in the event of disruption or cancellation of their journey and proposing suitable alternative solutions.
• Assist customers with their bookings.

Freight reservations :

• Process and respond to booking requests received.
• Contact customers to ensure vehicle use and details.
• Process hazardous and explosive material bookings in accordance with company guidelines.
• Communicate with shipboard and terminal staff to ensure smooth and efficient ship and terminal operations.
• Participate in on-call duty at weekends on a voluntary rotation basis.
• Completing the various manifests for each voyage in accordance with company guidelines.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE :

• You have a good knowledge of and significant experience in the transport or tourism sector.
• You are fluent in at least two languages, including English.
• You have a good command of computer software and reservation software (XNG).
