A pioneering aerospace company in the UK seeks a Flight Test Instrumentation Technician to manage the installation and calibration of FTI systems on aircraft. Applicants should have expertise in data acquisition units and a background in electrical/electronics to HNC/HND level. This role offers a mix of hands-on technical work and problem-solving opportunities, and is located at the Flight Test Centre in Cotswold Airport. Join an innovative team pushing the boundaries of aviation.
At Vertical Aerospace, we are pioneering the way for electric aviation. The Valo, our eVTOL (electric, vertical, take-off and landing), 'zero emissions' aircraft will set a new safety standard for how we will navigate the sky.
We won't realise our mission following the same legacy processes and traditions our predecessors followed, instead, we want to 'redefine' aerospace best practices. We are growing quickly from a prototype business to a scaling SME, and the next few years will be critical to our success and delivering on our ambitious goals. Valo is targeting airliner-level safety certification in 2028 ahead of entering service with our airline and operator customers.
We are looking for an experienced Fight Test Instrumentation (FTI) Technician with high quality instrumentation and sensors knowledge and sound personal standard practices. You will be required to assist in the installation, commissioning, fault finding and flight test support of FTI systems on aircraft, as well as support to various ground test rig instrumentation systems.
A real “can do attitude” is required and the candidate must be happy working with minimal guidance and supervision, the role will be varied and challenging at times. Aircraft work will be undertaken at the Flight Test Centre at Cotswold Airport.
