A leading health and safety consultancy in the UK is seeking a Fire Safety Technical Specialist. This role involves leading fire safety guidance, developing standards, and supporting health and safety consultants. Candidates should have a strong fire safety management background and relevant qualifications. The position offers remote work with UK-wide travel. As a Fire Safety Technical Specialist , you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting NFU Mutual’s Risk Management Services’ team to deliver and develop fire-related, health and safety products and services. You’ll be the first escalation point for technical queries, helping to enhance and maintain the fire safety skills of the consultancy team to support NFU Mutual’s growth strategy.
You’ll work closely with key business stakeholders, including the Consultancy team, NFU Mutual Agents, and our Sales team, to deliver departmental objectives and promote our Health & Safety consultancy agenda. The role involves conducting cross-regional audits, supporting competency frameworks, and providing technical guidance through site visits and industry engagement. You’ll also contribute to the research, production, and publication of technical guidance and data, and deliver relevant projects as required, including preparing the business for UKAS accreditation for fire risk assessment (e.g. BAFE)

With a strong background in Fire Safety Management, you’ll be able to demonstrate extensive and practical Fire Safety Knowledge along with exceptional mentoring skills and a collaborative approach to your work. You’ll be comfortable making decisions within authority levels and have experience imparting technical knowledge to others in an engaging manner. You’re open to development opportunities and bring a positive, can-do attitude.

Due to the nature of the role, travel across the UK will be required, to attend client visits with our H&S Consultants – therefore it is essential you also have a full UK driving licence.
