Finance Apprentice – Gleeson Homes

Join our Head Office team in Sheffield to support the finance function at a divisional level. As a Finance Apprentice you will gain business experience through involvement in specific projects, job shadowing and interaction with the senior finance team. You will also have the opportunity to rotate around different departments within the finance function.

Main Responsibilities
  • Daily cashbook posting
  • Daily processing of cash transactions through our banking facility
  • Monthly bank reconciliations
  • Credit card and VAT assistance
  • Other tasks as required
Working Hours
  • 36.5 hours per week
  • Monday to Thursday 8:30 am to 5 pm
  • Friday 8:30 am to 4 pm
  • One day per week or block release at a local college to obtain a relevant Apprenticeship Standard
The Ideal Candidate

Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required to succeed in this role as you will be working with a number of internal and external stakeholders, as well as senior finance team members.

  • 5 GCSEs at grade 9-4 (A*-C) or equivalent, including English and Maths minimum grade 4 / C.
  • An ability to work to deadlines, especially at month end and year end
  • A keen eye for detail and a strong work ethic
  • A confident IT user (especially Microsoft Excel)
  • Most importantly – the right candidate will be highly motivated with a strong desire to learn
