A supportive care organization in South Shields is seeking two female Personal Assistants to support a retired woman with a muscle-wasting condition. Responsibilities include personal care, light household tasks, and accompanying to appointments. Ideal candidates are understanding, adaptable, and empathetic. The position requires references, a DBS check, and a preference for candidates with a driving license.
Hours: up to 10-16 hours per week (times and days to be discussed)
Area: South Shields
Rates of pay: Age-related national minimum wage, up to £13.50 per hour
Holidays: 5.6 weeks pro rata per annum. Bank holidays are usually honoured on a pro-rata basis (except in emergencies)
I am a retired woman and power chair user seeking two female Personal Assistants to support me in living independently and enhancing my quality of life. I live with a muscle-wasting condition that can vary in severity and often causes fatigue and pain, so you must be able to adapt to fluctuating health needs. I am looking for individuals who are understanding, adaptable, and compassionate in their approach. Kind, reliable, and respectful of personal boundaries.
A full driving licence and access to a car is preferred but not essential.
There will be minimal weekend work required.
References and a current full DBS check are essential.
