Job description

Warrington & Vale Royal College is seeking new Governors to strengthen its Board and support the continued growth of this high-performing, inclusive, and community-focused further education college. With strong financial health, over 4,000 learners, and a recent “Good” Ofsted outcome with outstanding/strong judgments in key areas, this is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a college recognised for its positive impact and commitment to delivering exceptional technical and vocational education.

The Board is looking to appoint three Governors to key strategic roles – Chair of the Corporation, Audit Committee Member, and Standards & Curriculum Committee Member – to help guide the College as it continues its journey.

A senior leader with significant governance and strategic experience is sought to serve as Chair of the Corporation, providing oversight of vision, risk, finance, and organisational direction.

A professionally qualified finance, assurance, or risk specialist is required for the Audit Committee, helping to strengthen oversight of audit, compliance, and internal controls.

An education quality specialist, ideally with FE or wider sector improvement experience, is sought to join the Standards & Curriculum Committee, contributing to the College’s strong focus on performance, data, and continuous improvement.
