Overview

Experienced Structural Integrity Engineer

Join to apply for the Experienced Structural Integrity Engineer role at Frazer-Nash Consultancy.

Salary range: £40,000 to £65,000 per annum depending on experience. Location: Leatherhead, Bristol, Burton on Trent, Gloucester, Glasgow, Manchester or Plymouth. Working pattern: we operate a flexible hybrid working pattern with time split between the office, client sites and working from home.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and extend the life of ageing critical assets with a passion for asset integrity, condition assessments and life extension in fields relating to pressure equipment, pipework or rotating machinery.
  • Provide specialized guidance on the safe and efficient operation of assets across industries, focusing on high value, high performance and safety critical assets.
  • Engage in design/assessment codes, plant operation, pressure vessel and pipe work, rotating machinery, and applyF E A methods, fatigue and fracture analysis, plant investigations, failure analysis and fitness-for-service methods.
  • Collaborate with customers to diagnose defects, develop strategies for individual vessels or entire facilities, and support life extension projects from design substantiation to delivery.
  • Work across the business and with clients, showing good interpersonal skills, structured decision making, problem solving, initiative and ownership.
  • Build and mentor teams to meet customer requirements and support junior team members.
Essential requirements
  • A degree in engineering or equivalent. MEng, MSc or a PhD.
  • Ability to travel and conduct site visits, customer meetings, and plant walkdowns.
  • Deep technical knowledge in the mechanical/structural engineering domain, with familiarity across other disciplines.
  • Experience with Finite Element Analysis (preferably Abaqus, Ansys or LS-Dyna).
  • Experience with codes and standards, such as ASME III, ASME VIII, API579, BS7608, BS7910, R5/R6.
  • Experience in a customer facing role for project delivery and business development.
  • Recognised by peers/industry as a trusted advisor in your discipline.
