We are looking for a volunteer to assist with our Everyday Living: Money Matters sessions at Downham Market Library. Sessions take place on Wednesdays from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
Norfolk Library and Information Service are launching a new series of sessions to support people who are experiencing financial hardship. The sessions will be closely linked to work we have been doing to support people as part of our Know Your Neighbourhood project, run in partnership with Libraries Connected and Arts Council England. This project aims to reach three specific groups through activities run in libraries:
The Everyday Living: Money Matters sessions will support anyone experiencing financial hardship and who would like to know more about the local services available to help them.
We are looking for an empathetic volunteer who understands the impact that financial hardship can have on an individual or family. The sessions will be delivered by trained partners, but we need volunteers to help make the sessions a success. The role includes:
The role is open to all who have good communication skills and who wish to help others. Volunteers will have the chance to complete Norfolk Volunteer Passport training through Voluntary Norfolk if they are keen to build their skills within the role. We will also provide training around the need for confidentiality in the role.
Reimbursement of costs.
