Description
We are a leading professional services (B2B) firm with a global presence. We run and attend a range of industry events, conferences and seminars every year to grow and raise the profile of the business and its services in the insurance and highly regulated markets. We are seeking an experienced Events Manager to join our team to manage our UK&I events programme.
Working in collaboration with the marketing team, the Events & Partnerships Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning and execution of events, ensuring seamless operations and exceptional attendee experiences, together with managing our partnerships (sponsorships and association memberships) to ensure we maximise our return on investment. This role requires strong leadership, effective multi-tasking and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders.
Your New Role
- Event Planning & Execution: Develop and implement event strategies, ensuring alignment with business objectives. Oversee planning and execution of in-person events in the UK & Ireland. Establish and maintain event processes and standards to ensure efficiency and quality.
- Budget Management: Oversee financial planning, vendor negotiations, and cost control.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with internal teams, sponsors, and external vendors to ensure smooth execution.
- Marketing & Promotion: Work in partnership with the marketing team to understand objectives and timelines for each event and take responsibility for all venue and logistics activities.
- Venue & Logistics Management: Secure venues, manage contracts, and oversee on-site logistics including catering, entertainment, equipment, etc.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor our event executive.
- Post-Event Analysis: Gather feedback, analyse success metrics, and implement improvements for future events.
- Partnership Management: Manage relationships with our partners such as associations and event sponsorships. Ensuring opportunities with each association are identified and communicated with our teams to maximise the return on investment.
Types of events
- In-house hosted events at our UK offices – roundtables, theatre format, drinks events, presentations, panel discussions
- Externally hosted events at UK venues – mostly under 100 guests, targeted events for our clients
- External events and sponsorships – booths, speaking opportunities, sponsorships at large scale industry events
What You'll Bring to the Role
- Experience: Extensive experience in event management, with a proven track record of handling professional services events preferred.
- Soft Skills: Strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership abilities. Ability to meet tight deadlines and multitask under pressure. Clear concise written and verbal communication skills.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with email marketing platforms is a plus. Proficiency in event management software, CRM systems, and digital event platforms preferred. We will be transitioning to a new Microsoft Dynamics CRM platform during 2026 and aim to utilise the event modules.
- Location: This role will require a mix of in-office, on-site and remote working with a requirement for occasional travel across the UK. The majority of our events are based in London.
