The Ultrasound Department at the Luton and Dunstable University Hospital has a vacancy for a Sonographer. The successful candidate will hold a Post Grad Diploma in Medical Ultrasound. The team covers General Medical (including Paediatrics), Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Sonographers who specialise only in Obstetric, Gynaecology and EPC will also be considered.
10% retention and recruitment premium applies to this post and will be added to the advertised salary. Candidates interested in evening and weekend part-time employment may be considered.
The Ultrasound department consists of two units: Imaging and Women\'s Health. We are a team of 12 Sonographers including two departmental managers and qualified/trainee Sonographers. Regular CPD and involvement in governance/audit is encouraged. Equipment includes Samsung RS80EVO and Hera W10, with a rolling replacement programme.
All candidates must be able to attend a face-to-face interview and practical assessment.
The main duties are to independently perform and report ultrasound examinations in General Medical, Obstetrics and Gynaecology (including Paediatrics and EPC).
We train student Sonographers regularly; the successful candidate will play a key role in training.
