Walters UK is seeking a Dynamic Engineering Surveyor

Walters UK are seeking a Dynamic Engineering Surveyor to join us delivering the Earthworks for G2S between Southam & Greatworth near Banbury, Oxfordshire, part of the HS2 Project Delivery. This position requires strong technical expertise, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with project teams in a fast‑paced site environment.

Starting January 2026, but suitable candidates could start earlier if available.

Power: MW

Responsibilities
  • Collect survey field data, process and issue deliverables in agreed formats
  • Ensure site tolerances are achieved for all operations
  • Carry out QA on survey instruments
  • Produce as‑built drawings and records in survey‑specific software
  • Liaise with senior surveyors, senior management, and engineers to ensure all information is correct
  • Assist senior surveyor with monthly reports
  • Set out works accurately using GPS or Total Station
  • QA on GPS plant (excavators/dozers)
  • Maintain instrument register
Qualifications and Experience
  • Previous experience working in a similar role – earthworks experience preferred
  • Proficient in IT / survey applications (e.g. LSS, Trimble Business Centre, Trimble Works Manager, Propeller, AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel)
  • Experience using Topcon and Trimble equipment
  • Strong focus on health and safety
  • Land surveying / civil engineering background
  • An eagerness to learn new technologies and methods
  • Hold a valid UK driving licence (essential)
Desirable but not essential qualifications
  • Member of the ICES or similar
  • First Aid
  • SMSTS
