We’re looking for an enthusiastic and committed Energy Advisor to join our Money Matters Team. This exciting role is made possible through generous funding from the Cadent Foundation and marks our second collaborative project together.

In this role, you’ll work alongside our existing Energy Advisor, delivering holistic, person centred advice to help tackle fuel poverty and improve energy efficiency. You’ll visit customers in their homes across Shropshire, Staffordshire, Telford and Wrekin to provide practical guidance and support.

We’re looking for someone who can truly Own it, Improve it, and Live it. If you’re passionate about supporting customers, taking ownership, driving improvements, and showing real empathy and understanding, we’d love to hear from you.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Delivering tailored energy advice to customers across our Group
  • Managing your own caseload, including budgeting advice and referrals to specialist services
  • Providing support through home visits, workshops, events, and remote appointments
  • Addressing related issues like income, debt, and budgeting in partnership with internal teams
  • Building relationships with local organisations to reach those most vulnerable to fuel poverty
What You’ll Do:
  • Maintain and manage a dynamic case portfolio, ensuring timely and effective support
  • Complete online and offline application forms accurately and efficiently
  • Deliver comprehensive, generalist casework support where needed
  • Demonstrate tangible outcomes, including measurable energy savings for households through advocacy, advice, and practical support
  • Show financial impact—reducing fuel bills, maximising income, and easing debt through direct intervention or leveraging funds like energy trust grants
  • Accurately record case notes and outcomes using our CRM system, in line with project and reporting standards
  • Ensure all work aligns with The Cadent Foundation’s project requirements and contributes meaningfully to its goals
  • Monitor delivery progress, ensuring all targets and deliverables are met for internal management and funding partners
What You’ll Bring:
  • Experience within a customer-focused environment
  • Excellent IT skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication abilities—verbal, written, and face-to-face
  • Flexibility and great organisational skills
  • Minimum of 2 GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English
  • NEA/City & Guild Level 3 Award in Energy Awareness or similar
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • The role will require an enhanced DBS Check
Benefits and rewards:
  • A comprehensive induction and great learning and development opportunities
  • 22 days holiday, rising to 30 with service, plus bank holidays and three Christmas concessionary days
  • Contributory pension scheme
  • Employee Healthcare Portal, eye care vouchers and cycle to work scheme
