Business Development Manager at SEIMAF UK

SEIMAF UK is seeking an enthusiastic Electrical Design Engineer with a drive to work with leading clients across diverse sectors.

We are looking to grow our Engineering Team in the South West across multiple disciplines and are looking for people who thrive in a dynamic environment, who can work collaboratively to deliver innovative and technical solutions to our clients’ problems and construction team problems involving design aspect.

You will be part of a design team of multi-disciplinary engineers, project managers and advisors working on complex projects.

Expertise

Reporting to the Engineering Lead within the MEICA Branch, the Electrical Design Engineer will play a key role in delivering electrical design solutions across different industries. The position involves developing, reviewing, and integrating design packages, ensuring that all engineering work aligns with project requirements, safety standards, and regulatory expectations.

This role will be focused on the electrical discipline but will be interfaced with other disciplines and with several parties, such as the site Contractors (composed of main suppliers and sub-suppliers), Construction teams, Quality teams, Project Management teams, or Design teams (embedded within the organisation on site, or in back office).

Responsibilities
  • Develop, review, and validate electrical design deliverables including single-line diagrams, cable schedules, equipment specifications, and installation drawings.
  • Coordinate design activities and technical interfaces between multidisciplinary teams, including civil, mechanical, and instrumentation disciplines.
  • Support the integration of electrical systems within the overall plant design, ensuring compatibility and compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
  • Manage design modifications, assess technical changes, and ensure alignment with project design and configuration management processes.
  • Provide technical support to construction and commissioning teams, resolving electrical design queries and design changes and field change requests on site as needed.
  • Address, resolve and close Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and open points, ensuring timely resolution and documentation of technical issues.
  • Liaise with client and external partners to develop and validate design solutions.
  • Contribute to the identification and mitigation of design-related risks, ensuring all technical challenges, open points and field change requests are addressed in coordination with project teams.
  • Maintain strong design documentation control, ensuring all design quality assurance standards, configuration changes and non-conformance actions are fully captured and closed.
Essential
  • Demonstrable Electrical design experience of 4 to 5 years within critical industries.
  • Energy industry experience desirable (Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Refinery, Offshore…)
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Navisworks, E3D (Required), Revit, EPLAN (Desired)
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant standards and regulations (IEC/IEEE or similar)
