Job summary

A renowned scientific facility in the UK is seeking an experienced FPGA Engineer for a 3-year fixed term contract. The successful candidate will develop firmware for power supplies in the Diamond-II upgrade project, with responsibilities including designing, testing, and collaborating with teams. Applicants should hold a relevant engineering or science degree and possess strong skills in HDL development for FPGAs. Qualifications

  • Proven practical experience in an industrial or scientific environment.
  • Solid theoretical and practical knowledge of HDL firmware development for FPGAs.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical and electronic circuit principles.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain HDL code for Xilinx FPGAs in Vivado.
  • Design interfaces to peripherals such as ADCs, DACs, and microcontrollers.
  • Test FPGA designs through simulation and on-hardware validation.
