Overview

At ProCook we have an exciting opportunity for a new role as a Retail Complience Officer. This is an exciting role for someone who has an eye for detail and an interest in risk management. As we grow as a business, we are looking to build out our risk and compliance function, and compliance assessments to ensure our services are delivered to the highest possible standard across stores and the warehouse to keep customers coming back to ProCook.

The candidate must be happy to travel across the country conducting compliance assessments regularly (occasionally with overnight stays). Prior experience in an internal audit or compliance role within retail is desirable.

Responsibilities
  • Support with the enhancement of store and warehouse audits (prior experience would be ideal).
  • Conduct store audits, document findings, assign and follow up on actions.
  • Conduct warehouse audits, document findings, assign and follow up on actions.
  • Partner effectively with Retail and Warehouse leadership to improve our compliance and evidence where required.
  • Key areas of focus in audits will be Health & Safety, customer service, stock management, merchandising and labelling, cash management, front of house & back of house checks, and data privacy.
Additional Areas of Opportunity
  • Support delivery of periodic thematic reviews focusing on key areas of the business with direction from the Board.
  • Support the business in the management of risk events – identifying the root cause, understanding the corrective actions, liaising with the business to agree preventative actions and tracking the event to closure
Skills and Qualifications
  • Active listening, observation and attention to detail are key for this role. As an independent compliance function, and a regulated business, we must conduct our audits thoroughly and objectively.
  • Analytical and innovative problem-solving skills are needed here. We partner effectively to ensure any actions assigned are SMART (specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and time-based) and practical to continue to grow at scale.
  • Experience of compliance / internal audit within retail is a preference here to provide valuable insights.

  • We foster a culture of teamwork and collaboration across the business. In this role, you’ll be partnering with the Heads of Retail and the Warehouse to help to ensure our customer service is the best in the market. This scope would be broader for thematic reviews and risk events.
  • We support the business, as a second line function, in our compliance and operational efficiency.
  • As a growing business, we must adapt our recommendations – we focus on sustainable solutions, which are cost-effective and efficient.
  • This role requires attention to detail and commitment to excellence.
