Job description

HR Advisor

Salary from circa £41,000 pa depending on experience

Based in Horsham, Christ’s Hospital is a unique co-educational boarding school and charitable foundation that provides first class education to around 900 children from all backgrounds, supported by over 500 members of staff.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced HR professional to join our team at CH. You will provide a high-quality, professional and results focussed HR service to Bluecoat Sports and employee relations support to Christ’s Hospital with the support of the HR Development Manager.

The role at BCS will include being a first point of HR contact for BCS employees (c.160 employees) and supporting the BCS management team with HR-related matters including recruitment.

The role at Christ’s Hospital requires expertise in ensuring best practice in employee relations matters, championing fair and consistent practices across the School. The role will involve supporting the School with delivering effective, and appropriate HR interventions on early and formal stages of ER issues including disciplinary, grievance, bullying & harassment, capability, and absence cases, reducing the need for formal procedures. Where required, the HR Advisor will also provide support on change management programmes.

You will have proven experience in an HR advisory or generalist HR role with strong employee relations skills as well as good working knowledge of current employment law and its application in the workplace. Experience in education or a leisure centre is desirable, but not essential. You will have excellent communication and organisational skills and the ability to build stakeholder relationships at all levels.

This is a permanent, full time (35 hours per week), year-round position. Benefits include 31 days’ holiday (includes all public holidays), a stakeholder pension scheme for eligible staff, free on-site parking, use of the Employee Assistance Programme and Aviva Digicare+ Scheme (including 24-hour online GP appointments), free lunch during term-time and discounted membership of the on-site Sports Centre.
