Job summary

A manufacturing company in Flintshire is looking for a Production Shift Manager to lead and control shift operations. You will manage Supervisors to ensure safe, efficient production while maintaining compliance with ISO standards. The ideal candidate has proven experience in manufacturing management, a strong understanding of production planning, and the ability to meet KPIs. Knowledge of ERP systems and health & safety regulations is essential for this role.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in manufacturing shift management or a senior supervisory role.
• Strong background in production planning, resource allocation and KPI delivery.
• Good understanding of H&S and ISO-based quality/environmental systems.

Job Title: Production Shift Manager
Location: Flintshire

Hours: 12-hour shifts, days and nights, rotating

Salary: NEG / DOE

Overview

Lead and control shift manufacturing operations to deliver safe, efficient and on-time production, while managing Supervisors/Shift Leaders and ensuring compliance with company and ISO standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate shift Supervisors/Team Leaders to meet production plans and KPIs.
• Plan labour, manage overtime/agency use and ensure adequate holiday/absence cover.
• Control materials and stock (including aged stock) and ensure accurate ERP booking and labelling.
• Ensure machinery and equipment are safe, maintained and available, liaising with engineering/contractors.
• Enforce health & safety, quality, environmental and compliance requirements (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, 50001, 37301, CE).
• Investigate incidents, maintain records and produce reports/data for management.
• Support training, performance management, recruitment and continuous improvement activities.

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Proven experience in manufacturing shift management or a senior supervisory role.
• Strong background in production planning, resource allocation and KPI delivery.
• Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and shop‑floor data.
• Good understanding of H&S and ISO‑based quality/environmental systems.

Preferred

Qualification in Manufacturing/Engineering or similar.

• IOSH/NEBOSH or equivalent H&S training.
