# MPhil Co-ordinator (Part Time, Fixed Term)The Department of Geography is seeking an experienced and dynamic administrator to contribute towards the delivery of its portfolio of postgraduate courses.The Department of Geography (incorporating the Scott Polar Research Institute) is a highly interdisciplinary department that has 40 academic, 25 research and 45 support staff; teaches 300 undergraduate and 160 postgraduate students at any one time; and holds approximately 70 active research grants of a total value of about GBP 9m.The Department offers five MPhil programmes - Geography, Conservation Leadership, Polar Studies, Anthropocene Studies and Past and Future Climates - with a combined annual intake of approximately 65 students, and there are approximately 95 PhD students at any one time. Administrative support is provided by the Postgraduate Administrator, who is the first point of contact and administrative lead for postgraduate matters in the Department, assisted by the Teaching Administrator, who shares their time between support for the Department's postgraduate and undergraduate activities. Four of the MPhil courses have additional dedicated administrative support.The role-holder provides comprehensive administrative support for two Master's courses, in Anthropocene Studies and Past and Future Climates, which together recruit approximately 25 students per year.
