Job description

For a quarter of a century, the Jellycat family have brought joy, wonder and playful fun to people of all ages, in every part of the world. Utterly original and in a class of their own, they are currently among the most loved and collected toys of their kind. How has this gentle tribe endeared themselves to so many? Perhaps it is their whimsical expressions. Or the deliciously soft fabrics. Or the beautiful way in which they sit in your hand. Whatever it is, there is something magical and unmistakeable about each one of them.

We are looking for a proactive, detail oriented Group Accounting Manager with a strong technical accounting foundation and a passion for driving process improvement to join our growing Group Finance team. This is an exciting opportunity to take on a newly created role within a fast-growing, international business, offering broad exposure across group accounting, reporting and finance transformation.

You will play a key role in delivering accurate and timely internal and external reporting for the group, including leading on consolidation and statutory reporting. • Coordinating and overseeing the monthly group closing timetable and processes.
  • Owning the monthly accounting for certain group subsidiaries, including onboarding new companies and working with any outsourcing providers, as required.
  • Leading the preparation of the monthly consolidation financial statements and management accounts, developing detailed group supporting schedules and analysis.
  • Leading the preparation of statutory financial statements for the consolidated group and certain group subsidiaries.
  • Supporting with managing the audit process with our group statutory auditors and preparing key group deliverables.
  • Supporting the upcoming implementation and transition to a new ERP system (D365), including the implementation of the group’s consolidation process.
  • Driving the implementation of group wide accounting policies, processes and controls and supporting the creation of a group finance manual.
  • Providing technical accounting guidance to the wider Finance team and business.
  • Managing the group’s transfer pricing calculations in tandem with the Group Financial Controller and Tax team.
  • Owning the group chart of accounts.
  • Leading or supporting other ad hoc group projects as they arise.

You’ll have:

  • An accounting qualification, such as ACA or similar (essential).
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a group finance role, including group consolidation.
  • Experience in a fast-growing, international business.
  • Solid and up to date knowledge of IFRS.
  • Experience working with and implementing a consolidation system (desirable).
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
