Fundraising Manager - Job Description

Create, own and lead a fundraising strategy to sustainably increase income to the Sheffield Cats Shelter.

Manage the Corporate fundraiser (1 day per week), maintain and grow relationships with individual donors, trusts, corporate donors, community groups and other funders.

Identify fundable opportunities within the Shelter’s strategy, develop cases for support and oversee grant applications to charitable trusts and other funders.

Manage and mentor the Fundraising and Communications Coordinator, including planning and delivering appeals and events, managing the website and social media calendar, and growing the number of people supporting the Shelter through community fundraising.

Build sustainable income through regular giving income streams, and ensure plans are in place to retain and develop donors giving in this way.

Support the Legacy Trustee with marketing of legacy and launch “in memory” giving programmes.

Work closely with the Retail Manager and Shelter Manager to integrate fundraising into business as usual – at the Shelter and our charity shops.

Identify opportunities to generate support for The Sheffield Cats Shelter across Sheffield, including attending local events, conferences and networking events, working proactively with the media and acting as an ambassador for the charity.

Assist with the implementation of, and then manage, a new CRM database to record the fundraising activity of donors and potential donors.

Prioritise the donor experience, ensuring that gifts are acknowledged and developing ‘donor journeys’ for supporters at all levels.

Develop and maintain an efficient working team of staff and volunteers, setting clear goals and monitoring and managing performance as needed.

Develop and lead a fundraising volunteer strategy, including development of a community volunteer team.

Ensure that all public-facing communications and materials are in line with the Shelter's brand and tone of voice guidelines.

Actively manage the fundraising budgets, monitoring cost efficiencies and ROI.

Ensure compliance with Health & Safety policies and procedures in line with The Sheffield Cats Shelter and statutory standards and rules.

Submit regular reports and attend Management Team meetings with appropriate commentary, information and recommendations.
