Mission

As an experienced Senior QHSE Compliance Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the company’s quality, health, safety and environmental operations meet or exceed regulatory, customer, and organizational standards. This role develops and implements management systems, policies, and programs to maintain safe, efficient, and compliant business operations. You will lead continuous improvement initiatives, fostering a culture of safety, quality, and environmental responsibility across the organisation.

Responsibilities
  • Quality, Health, Safety & Environmental Management
    • Develop, implement, and maintain quality management systems to ensure products meet or exceed regulatory, customer, and company standards.
    • Conduct regular audits, inspections, and quality assessments to drive continuous improvement.
    • Establish and enforce health and safety policies, procedures, and protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
    • Conduct risk assessments, monitor workplace safety, and ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
    • Ensure business operations comply with environmental regulations, permits, and sustainability initiatives.
    • Implement environmental management programs, including waste reduction, emissions control, and resource efficiency.
    • Maintain all staff engagement and continuous improvement.
  • ISO Compliance
    • Support the day‑to‑day operation, maintenance and continuous improvement of the Management Systems across ISO 9001 and 14001.
    • Manage the implementation, review, and ongoing improvement of policies, procedures, standards and controls aligned to ISO requirements.
    • Ensure documentation is accurate, current, controlled, and aligned to certification standards and organisational operations.
    • Implement corrective and preventive actions for incidents or non‑conformities.
    • Support certification cycles, including surveillance audits, recertification audits, and scope extensions where applicable.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration and People Management
    • Work closely with all departments to ensure QHSE and compliance requirements and standards are embedded in processes, projects, and facilities planning.
    • Support management reviews by preparing inputs, evidence summaries, and action follow‑ups.
    • Prepare summary reports and dashboards for senior stakeholders as required.
    • Management of Quality, Health and Environmental employees within UK.
Profile and Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum of 7+ years working in QSHE role, working within Integrated Management Systems (IMS).
  • Experience of leading and managing Management Systems, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, AS9100, and writing and maintaining Quality Management Plans compliant with DEFCON 602A, AQAP ‑ 2105 Edition C, Version 1 and AQAP2310.
  • Sector Expertise & Technical Fluency: Extensive experience in the defence or a high‑end technical/manufacturing industry (Aerospace/Maritime).
  • Certifications & Qualifications: Degree level qualification or equivalent work experience. ISO Internal auditor/Lead auditor qualifications advantageous as is a wider breadth of ISO knowledge and experience.
  • Communication: Experience championing good working relationships across all departments, able to lead meetings effectively to achieve courses or action and maintain stakeholder buy‑in, clearly and concise written and articulation skills to inform and advise senior leadership.
  • Security Vetting: Due to the nature of our Defence contracts, all applicants must be eligible to hold and willing to undergo the vetting process for UK SC level Security Clearance.
  • Travel: Some travel to fixed TEKEVER sites and potentially to deployed operations.
