About the Role
We are growing Health and Safety team and looking for an experienced Senior Health and Safety Consultant to provide high-quality consulting support to an office-based client with a large number of employees to achieve operational excellence by delivering SMS-related services and support in identifying innovative solutions and services. This is a 12-month fixed term contract with a possibility of becoming permanent.
Responsibilities involve
- Lead and maintain the organisation’s Health & Safety Management System, acting as the primary point of contact for all UK based H&S matters.
- Demonstrate a driven, proactive and customer centric approach, consistently seeking practical, value adding solutions.
- Show a strong commitment to continuous learning and development, both technically and in soft skill capability.
- This role requires more than compliance or “box ticking”. You will be confident in identifying areas for improvement, constructively challenging existing approaches and proposing effective, evidence-based solutions.
- Bring experience engaging with senior leadership at all levels, influencing decision making and negotiating meaningful change.
- Possess solid knowledge of UK and Ireland H&S legislation. While detailed international expertise is not required, you must be capable of undertaking reactive research, interpreting legislative requirements and applying them appropriately across multiple jurisdictions.
- Work fully embedded within the corporate office environment of a leading law firm, operating as part of the client’s internal Health & Safety Team while being supported by the wider Bureau Veritas network.

Qualifications
- Level 3 Health & Safety qualification (e.g., NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety).
- Actively working towards a Level 6 Health & Safety qualification (e.g., NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety).
- GCSE (or equivalent) at Grade C or above in English Language and Mathematics.
