Senior Static Stress Engineer - Aircraft Research & Technology | Belcan

Belcan is seeking an experienced Senior Static Stress Engineer with a strong track record in airframe structural analysis to join our cutting‑edge Research & Technology team. You'll be driving correlation between physical test results and analytical outputs, owning your work, and keeping programmes on track with confidence and independence. This is long‑term contract role and is Inside IR35.

What You'll Be Doing

• Interrogate, navigate, and interpret GFEM models to correlate analysis with test outcomes
• Perform detailed test data analysis
• Produce clear, professional reports in the established Airbus style

What You Will Bring

• Proven experience as an aircraft stress engineer, analysing primary structures using both hand calculations and computational methods (including ISAMI)
• Strong background in linear FEA (Nastran, Patran / HyperMesh)
• Solid understanding of aircraft production methods
• Ability to quickly assess structural challenges and guide team members effectively
• Self‑driven, comfortable working autonomously, and proactive in solving problems
• Excellent communication across presentations, discussions, and technical reports

Bonus Skills

• Experience in R&D environments
• Familiarity with 3DX, especially "Design Model to FEM" conversion
