Role Description

As a Senior member of the team the role is responsible for ensuring that all Payment Operations tasks are fulfilled in line with procedures, SLA’s and quality. The role will action and oversee activities carried out by the operations assistants within the team providing support to them and the Payments manager.

Working in a Payments team is a fast-moving role, and the ideal candidate should feel comfortable in a busy environment where they can make a difference to a team throughout the day, grow, support and learn within the team. Payments team touch all Products in Allica, the opportunity allows for an individual to be involved in all areas of the bank, building and forming key relationships and knowledge.

Principal Accountabilities
  • Maintain good working relationships with all stakeholders, both internal and external to ensure smooth and timely exchange of correspondence and communication.
  • Assist the Payments manager to manage your workload and working day to ensure adherence to the teams SLAs and quality expectations.
  • Approve and input outbound payments for the bank this includes- Customer Payments, Invoice payments, Refunds, etc. Complete 4 eye checks.
  • Engaging with Customer Support, Credit Operations, Fraud or Relationship Managers.
  • To proactively identify areas for process improvement and to seek new and innovative ways to better serve way of working.
  • Provide support to the team daily, be a point of escalation with complex queries.
  • Work closing with OM and QA/QC to review all team processes and procedures to assure that key failure points are identified and appropriately flagged.
  • Manage and support the daily activities of mailbox requests and queries.
  • Ensure Annual Mandatory Training and all other required training is scheduled and met personally and across the team.
Personal Attributes & Experience
  • Previous experience in Banking/Payment back-office industry.
  • Experience of core processes (e.g., payments processing, reconciliation, Direct debit management, general payment queries).
  • Knowledge of financial services rules and guidelines.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience in dealing with complex payment queries (not essential).
  • Organisational and time-management skills.
  • A good understanding of the conduct of treating customers fairly.
  • Capable of working in a fast-paced environment – with a constant focus on delivery.
  • Strong relationship management skills as the role works closely with several internal and external stakeholders.
